Hi Brighton Folk,
I’m Laura, the owner and founder of Purdy’s Pet Sitting – an ethical, environmentally-friendly, fully insured, CRB-checked pet sitting service, based in Brighton.
My wife, Tania, and I have fostered a number of bunnies for the RSPCA over the years, plus we volunteered for around 6 months at a Sussex wildlife hospital so we were lucky enough to look after some pretty unusual (and sometimes slightly terrifying!) British wild animals as well as domestic ones!
We’ve always had a real love for animals – we’ve been loving and dedicated pet mums for over 17 years, having rescued 7 house-rabbits and 2 cats of our own in that time too!
Our current herd consists of brothers, Robin and Thomas (a bonded house-bunny pair) and the cats (AKA The Lads!), Lenny and Friend.
I named my company Purdy’s after our lovely bunny girl (the black and white bun in the photo), who sadly passed away last year at the ripe old age of 9. She was a real force of nature who definitely considered herself the matriarch of her warren (and that included us!).
I know how important it is for your little ones to feel happy and safe while you’re away. Our cats, in particular, wouldn’t be happy to go into a cattery, as Len loves his home comforts and Friend (the Wanderer!) would hate not to be able to go on his daily jaunts.
I’ll make sure that all of your animals have the love and care that they need while you’re away, giving you complete piece of mind.
I’m currently taking bookings for cat sitting, small animal sitting (rabbits, rodents, guinea pigs, etc.), reptiles and birds.*
I also offer dog-walking from your residence and dog sitting at your home, if your canine pal needs company while you’re at work.
All my products are cruelty-free, and I refill instead of buying new wherever possible, to minimise plastic waste. For zero carbon emissions I’ll be making my visits on my e-bike or our fuel-efficient Aygo!
